Data on braille and talking books is distributed via the Sapie Library, a digital library on the Internet.
Services for individual needs
Personalized services
Printed materials can be transcribed or recorded for individual users upon request.
Reading service
Face-to-face service for specialized books. Reading volunteers with appropriate knowledge in the field are available.
Reference service
Services for users' book-related needs. Books can be searched for among the collections of braille libraries nationwide.
Braille lessons
For persons who developed low vision or became blind later in life, classes are offered for instruction on how to read and write braille, tailored to suit individual needs.
Computer lessons
One-on-one lessons are designed to help the users with using the Internet and reading e-mail using appropriate software.
Counseling related to vision problems
For those with low vision, counseling is available to assist with inconvenience caused by decline in vision or vision loss.
Advice is also given on CCTV and magnifiers suitable for users, ideas to improve quality of life, and welfare services.
